Your Experiance

As a volunteer at Milele Moyo/ Unity Initiatives, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the lives of the children and communities we serve. Your experience will involve a variety of rewarding activities, including:

1. Classroom Support: You’ll have the opportunity to work in classes as a teacher’s aide, supporting instructors with lesson plans, helping children with activities, and sometimes even leading classes or small group sessions yourself. This hands-on teaching experience allows you to inspire young minds and make a lasting impact. 2. Meal Preparation: As part of your duties, you’ll help prepare nutritious meals for the children. This is a crucial part of our program as we believe healthy, balanced meals are essential for their well-being and growth.

3. Supervision During Free Time: You’ll also help monitor the children during their free time, ensuring they are safe, engaged in positive activities, and having fun. This is a wonderful chance to interact with the children on a more personal level and build meaningful relationships. This experience will not only help you grow as a leader but also give you the satisfaction of knowing you’re making a real difference in the lives of others.

Safety

Your well-being is as important as the impact you make, and we take every measure to ensure you feel safe, supported, and confident throughout your time with us. Safety is our absolute top priority. From the moment you arrive, we ensure that every volunteer receives thorough training on safety protocols, including emergency procedures, and child supervision. Our facilities are equipped with all necessary safety features, and we enforce guidelines to ensure that everyone is protected and cared for.

Emergency Procedures

  1. Emergency Contacts: Each volunteer is provided with a list of emergency contacts, including local authorities, medical facilities, and organization leadership.

  2. First Aid Stations: First aid stations are located within volunteer accommodations and project sites. Trained personnel are available to handle minor injuries and respond to medical needs.

  3. Evacuation Plans: Clear evacuation routes are established, and drills are conducted regularly to familiarize everyone with the procedures in case of an emergency.

Embassies and Local Resources

  1. Embassy Locations: We provide volunteers with information about the nearest embassies based on their nationality. This includes contact information and directions.

  2. Local Hospitals: Volunteers receive information about the closest hospitals, including addresses and emergency contact numbers. We also share details about local healthcare facilities and their services.

Local Law Enforcement

  1. Emergency Numbers: We provide volunteers with the local emergency numbers for law enforcement, fire, and medical services. This ensures quick access to assistance when needed.

  2. Community Liaison: Our organization has established relationships with local law enforcement to facilitate communication and ensure volunteer safety in the community.

Ongoing Support

  1. Open Communication: Volunteers are encouraged to communicate any concerns or incidents they encounter. We have a dedicated support team available for assistance.

  2. Wellness Checks: Regular wellness checks are conducted to ensure that volunteers are feeling safe and supported throughout their time with us.

By prioritizing these safety measures, we aim to create an environment where volunteers can focus on their impactful work while feeling secure and cared for. Your well-being is integral to our mission, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

Our Mission.

Milele Moyo Orphanage is dedicated to nurturing the well-being, happiness, and future prospects of Tanzania's children. Our mission is to reach out to those unfortunate souls who find themselves living on the streets, offering them more than just shelter; we provide a loving home and a pathway to a brighter future. At Milele Moyo Orphanage, education is at the core of our mission. We believe that every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of their circumstances. By providing a nurturing environment and comprehensive educational opportunities, we equip these children with the tools they need to build successful lives for themselves. Through education, we empower them to break free from the cycle of poverty and become architects of their own destiny.

But our vision extends beyond the individual. We see these children as the future leaders and change-makers of Tanzania. By investing in their education and personal development, we are not only transforming their lives but also sowing the seeds for a healthier, more prosperous community. Our aim is to foster a generation of compassionate and capable individuals who will contribute positively to society, thus ensuring the long-term health and self-sufficiency of our community. At Milele Moyo Orphanage, we believe in the transformative power of love, education, and community support.
